Social Media Intern (unpaid)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for managing our various social media accounts. This position may also gain experience in working directly with the Vice President to manage the organization's website. Please note that this position will be a "work from home" internship with check ins directly with the Vice President as well as the head of Marketing. See below for more specific duties for this position:

1) Edit and create creative content for our social media channels. This will mainly include promoting our main event which will be held in September (Recovery Month). We will need this event to gain momentum throughout the summer and will be utilizing social media to spread awareness of the event in order to sell tickets. We will also need our organization promoted through social media use in order to gain publicity on the work we do.

2) Assist the Vice President in running a training program on social media use to other board members.

3) Have weekly meetings with the Vice President (and potentially the head of Marketing) to go over various tasks as well as discuss various social media marketing tactics for the organization.

4) Attend any events we hold and run the live social coverage posting of our events.

5) Generate and analyze social reports on a month-to-month basis to see what methods are most effective.

6) Receive training from the Vice President and Head of Marketing on marketing tactics in a nonprofit environment. Will also meet with other board members to learn about their roles within the organization.

7) Other duties as necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
------------------------------------------

1) Degree-seeking college student majoring in communications, marketing, or related field preferred.

2) Experience with the following social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and LinkedIn)

3) Experience in Photoshop or other similar programs.

4) Strong writing and communication skills.

5) General knowledge of the opioid crisis and an interest in learning more about recovery efforts.

6) Ability to work on a team as well as individually.

7) Creative thinker!

SALARY: Please note this is an unpaid internship. We are willing to sign any documentation needed for a college student to obtain internship credit.
